I’ve spent some time downtown at the Occupy Portland camp. And I marched on October 5th. It’s inspiring to see so many people joining together to reject an economic system that supports corporate personhood, bank bailouts, speculative debt mongering, and waging war on the poor. FYEAH! Here are some of my photos. You can see the complete set on my Flickr page.
In July we sold nearly all we owned and packed up the rest out of a three bedroom farmhouse in Montpelier, Vermont and put it in a tiny U-Haul trailer which we hauled across the United States with our dog to start a new life in Portland, Oregon. Where it isn’t winter for six months out of the year. And the gigs are more plentiful.
I’ve lived in Vermont off and on since 1991, with some travels elsewhere, but for lots of reasons, I stayed long after I knew I was ready to move on. But that’s another story for another time.
My man Dan Haley was a fixture in PDX back in the day, so it was a natural place to head off to, as I wanted to be somewhere on the best – I mean west – coast. Here is a little snapshot of the travels.
Everything we own fits in a 10' trailer.

i’ve been completely obsessed with the various apps available for making iPhone photos look all retro and psychedelic. my favorites are Hipstamatic, Lo-Mob, and Tilt-Shift-Gen.

these are pictures i took to exhibit at a “phone-tography” show for Geek Week at Langdon Street Cafe in Montpelier, Vermont.
i also made a 12:1 scale iPhone out of foam core and paper, and used the prints i made as the apps.
