I’ll be facilitating most of the art-making portions of the retreat with the goal of introducing methods of mixed media and image and mark-making that result in the creation of a visual vocabulary uniquely yours. You will leave with works that are beautiful, deeply personal, and representative of your wisdom — imbued with the energy of our shared experience.

We will begin at 9am and go until around 5pm, with optional evening activities like live music, guest speakers, or just stay to continue working on your art as late as you wish 🙂

*I currently live as a settler-colonizer on the unceded lands of the Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Chinook, Molalla, Tualatin Kalapuya and other indigenous peoples in a place called Portland, Oregon.
A portion of sales from this retreat will benefit indigenous rights activists/advocacy groups.
I want to say that I am offering this retreat at a time when I believe we need to gather, witness and name what is true from our own lived experiences, and share that as medicine for these times.
I also want to name that Portland, Oregon is emblematic of deep wounds that white supremacy and settler-colonialism have caused in our culture. There is a very long history of racism here, as Oregon was established as a “white haven.” Our city is grappling with issues around police brutality, houselessness, cultural appropriation, and how we are not as “progressive” as our image tends to be.
It has given me pause in moving forward with this retreat. But in a way, what better place to have it? In this gathering, I welcome conversations around all of the above subjects as well as intersectionality, capitalism, the role of white people in addressing these issues, ableism, privilege, neurodivergence, magic + spirituality, and whatever else comes up as we go along together.
Luckily, I’m funny as fuck and I rely heavily on humor to mitigate darkness…As well as togetherness and the sharing of the miracles unfolding inside us all, just by virtue of the fact that we are still here! We survived!
All that said, I’m an artist, not a critical race theorist or trauma therapist and the point of this retreat is to MAKE MORE ART.
SO LET’S DO THAT! I hope you join us.
