holiday craft with trees and deer

December 14, 2009 in craft, decor, nature, sculpture

i’ve been saving these cardboard craft cones…now i know why.
i took a lot of leftover scraps of yarn, buttons, velvet, beads and lace and glue gunned them onto the trees.  they sit like a tiny mighty forest on top of my piano.

plush wool owl project

December 9, 2009 in craft, nature

so here’s a little guy (about 12″ x 8″) I made from some old wool skirts, a piece of rust colored velvet, and upholstery pattern scraps for my friend kate sprout for her 17th birthday.  All materials came from the ReSTORE in Barre, Vermont.

hearts on fire

July 5, 2009 in fashion

here’s a Levi’s denim jacket i never wear.  so i decided to sew on a human heart — not a real one, silly! — made from leather, satin and velvet.  turns out i still won’t wear it, maybe i could sell it?   i’d like to add some beading, nudie suit-style.

another reason i should get my etsy store up and running…
