All Ages Weaving Workshop 12/9/17

Co-facilitated by Jaime Lee Cristiana and Rachael Rice

Saturday 12/9 1-4pm

Sliding scale: $25-$50 includes all supplies + light refreshments

Location: Inner southeast Portland near Reed College

This kid-friendly holiday weaving workshop will give you and your younger one a chance to make plenty of gifts while learning the basics of warp, weft, and weaving!

We will give an intro to weaving on small looms of various types, including the cross loom that creates a folk-weaving “god’s eye,” flat looms (you can keep yours!), matchbox looms, pom poms and tassels. You can even make a pom pom wreath!

Multi-artist Jaime Lee Christiana will offer a step by step guide on how to create dimensional ojo de dios weavings and delicious thick pom poms you’ll wanna just hug – as well as sacred placement. She will also demonstrate how to allow the process of art to be the guide versus achievement.

Together we will explore hilarious and authentic ways to create gorgeous handmade weavings for you or for gifts!

* this workshop is available for free / sliding scale to BIPOC + marginalized folks for whom cost is prohibitive. Please contact us for more info:
