Level: Beginner – Advanced, Ages 21+

About this workshop: Indigo Shibori is the ancient Japanese art of resist dying using various binding, twisting, wrapping, tying and stitching techniques to achieve unpredictable and gorgeous results on fabric.

  • Using traditional indigo dye vats, you will create two 28″ x28″ cotton hand towels plus one zippered cotton pouch. 


  • After your fabric is rinsed and dried, you will have the opportunity to stamp and embellish your works with a variety of stamping tools.


  • All supplies are included. Please feel free to bring more white/off white cotton, linen or silk items to dye such as sheets, fabric, pillow cases, clothes, scarves, curtains, lace, etc. There will be plenty of dye, don’t be shy!


  • Please wear clothes + shoes that can get permanent dye on them.
