1940s Eastern European Dressing Gown
Likely handmade or produced locally in Albania in the 1940s–50s, this piece was originally a nightgown or dressing gown, but it absolutely works as a bohemian dress.
Features:
Soft, lightweight semi-sheer synthetic fabric (likely early polyester or nylon)
Delicate embroidery at the shoulders with floral vine motifs
Scalloped neckline edged in leafy lace trim
Empire waist with attached peach satin tie
Flutter sleeves and calf-length
Measurements (laid flat): definitely some stretch!
Bust: 18”
Waist: 14”
Length: approx. 50"
Condition:
Excellent. Bust has been sewn shut to create a peephole. These stitches could be taken out for a more open neckline.
