Anna Couture Small Witch Doll
Anna is a one-of-a-kind witch doll created from a vintage doll in the German Low Brow style, her exact age is unknown. She has been stamped with heart tattoos; her dress has been hand-dyed and stamped with vintage folk art motifs, and has been embellished with vintage lace and beadwork. She has gold wings from vintage earrings, a chain belt, rhinestone button, and a braided silk trim that matches her black velvet purse full of baneful herbs and magical plants. She comes with a matching felt hat that can be attached either with Gorilla putty or the velvet ribbons. Her little bag can function as a bag charm and also has its own bag charms!
Anna can be worn “Labubu-style” on a bag or purse, but if you want to use her that way, please let me know so I can add a reinforced ribbon and a ring to attach her.
Anna can have the poisonous plants removed from her bag if you’d prefer. There are only a couple leaves of dried belladonna and one dried datura flower, they’re not a problem to handle by adults (gloves always recommended) but they are not without risk!
Please note that some of these these plants, while generally safe to handle for short periods of time (though it’s always safest to wear gloves), can cause serious harm and can even be deadly if ingested (by a small/vulnerable being). Keep away from children and pets. Poisonous plants can be removed by request, and they do come inside their own little dyed pouch.
Here is a listing of what is included in her portable apothecary (all grown organically by me as shown in the photo) and their properties:

Lore:
Anna Eriksdotter, known as Sotpackan (“the Sooty Woman”), was born around 1624 and executed in Söderhamn, Sweden, in September 1704 at about eighty years old and was the last person in the country to be put to death for witchcraft. A poor servant and laundress, she was accused of using charms and making pacts with the Devil.
She was a poor, elderly woman who earned her living as a laundress and servant, often tending fires and heating water for washing. Her clothes, hands, and face were frequently blackened with soot and ash, which gave her the nickname. In a small, deeply superstitious community like Söderhamn, those everyday marks of labor took on a darker meaning once suspicion fell on her.
By the time of her trial in 1704, people said she worked with fire, soot, and ashes in her spells — twisting her ordinary tools into signs of witchcraft. The same soot she used in her daily work became “evidence” of her pact with the Devil.
Though she denied the charges, her old folk-healing rituals were taken as proof of sorcery. She was beheaded and burned, an isolated echo of Sweden’s fading witch panic and the final chapter in its long history of persecuting “wise women” (Klokagummor).
Lineage:
Plants are grown by me and are incorporated in accordance with my own ancestral traditions, especially from the documents in the Svartkonstböcker: A Compendium of the Swedish Black Art Book Tradition. However, most of these plants had ritual and magical uses across Old Europe and beyond. Feel free to add herbs, stones, talismans, etc. of your own.
Care:
This doll is in very good condition; but she is for display not play. Do not get her or her clothing wet, and keep out of direct sunlight. Her price absolutely does not reflect the number of hours it has taken to create her, and she is heirloom-quality.
Legal:
